For this project I was asked to design a logo for the brand Reuben Avenue, they wanted a clean chique design and a planet as their logo.
As well as the logo they wanted a signature print with planets to refer back to the logo.
This brand is gender neutral and only using 100% natural materials such as silk and linen.
I painted the motifs with gold paint and then photographed them, instead of the usual scanning, to capture some of the shine. As opposed the the logo, the client wanted to have the motifs a painted look and to not appear to perfect, giving them a more handcrafted feel.
The first draft was a more detailed and decorative print with a variety of planets and stars.
The client preferred a more minimal style with only one type of planet, so I took away the other motifs and repeated the same planet in different sizes.
This collection was later repurposed and previous samples and dead stock was used to create new garments. These were one of items hand made in Dublin by @louiseagh_.
