I was requested to design a decorative print for my client's new bedding collection. I showed them a mood board with a few different styles with a single repeating motif as that is what they asked for.
They liked the first image of the top left, which I used as inspiration for the design. It captures a nostalgic charm and vintage aesthetic, highlighted by a stylised floral motif and symmetrical pattern that evoke a sense of timeless elegance.
I came up with three different concepts with symmetrical paisley/floral layouts. Since this was for bedding and the brand's style is more classic and conservative I decided to design a decorative repeating motif and use a subdued colour palette.
Instead of using a flat colour I used small lines to create the motifs.
