The client requested a floral print design combined with birds for their boho dress collection as well as a matching border.
I chose to draw galah cockatoos seeing as the brand is Australian, and the bird's native charm adds a lively, distinctive touch.
With their vibrant colours and striking head crests, they make a bold and eye catching impression. Instead of making them very colourful I added floral patterns to the birds to show their decorative side.
I sketched the elements and border with pencil on paper, after that I traced them on Procreate before importing them into photoshop to add colours and create the repeating layout.
Then I mocked up the design for the client to be able to visualise it on their garments in both colourways.
